Noida (JPN/Bureau): The Delhi Noida Direct (DND) Toll Bridge Company Ltd (NTBCL) swindled the Authority Rs 31 million. It was revealed in the audit report of 2007.

Although, the Committee had submitted report to the Authority in 2008, the authority failed to take any action in this regard.

According to the audit report, the Industrial Secretary of UP Government had ordered the authority to take back the unused land from Toll Company in December 2004.

Later, the administration had formed audit committee to investigate into the irregularities in the construction by NTBCL in 2007.

The committee noticed that 487.11 acres of land was allotted to the toll company in 1998 for the construction of DND against which 133.81 acres of land was used, while 353.901 acres of land was left unused. This land was to be returned to the Authority in March 2001.

The committee found that the unused land caused losses of whooping Rs 30,93,55,62,250.

Worthy mentioning here that lease-deal was signed between NTBCL and authority. As it was not registered, the state government had to incur of revenue loss of Rs 1042122960.
