Haridwar: Despite the reluctance of Founder head of Matra Sadan, Swami Sivananda, who is on fast unto death demanding immediate action against ongoing mining in river Ganga, the district administration ordered his health examination on Saturday.

Dr Himanshu Mishra who examined the seer in the ashram said, “His (Sivananda) health is perfectly fine. His weight is normal. However, we failed to check his blood pressure as Swami ji had asked us not to touch his body.”

Meanwhile, the Region Medical Service Association in their letter to the district administration has sought to spare their names from the medical examination conducted on Sivananda.

In the memorandum to the SDM, Dr Sanjay Jain, District Head of the association and Secretary Dr Manoj Verma said that the medical professionals were upset over the allegations on their roles in Swami Nigamanand death case. The doctors are facing CBI probe regarding this. Hence, Sivanand has asked the administration to carry the medical examination on other ashram members on fast by outside doctors.
