Motorcycle sales last month declined 3.04 per cent to 9,53,322 units, from 983,210 units a year earlier, SIAM, the apex body of automobile manufacturers, said.

Total two-wheeler sales in May slumped 1.25 per cent to 13,80,950 units. However, sales of commercial vehicles grew 3.95 per cent to 48,841 units in May, it added.

Vehicle sales across categories registered a decline of 0.58 per cent to 16,83,962 units, from 16,93,740 units in May 2014, SIAM said.
