Gurgaon: BJP leader Rajnath Singh Saturday said his party will pay a price if it shunned principles for the sake of power."Our politics must be based on principles.

To retain power at any cost is unprincipled politics," the former Bharatiya Janata Party president told reporters here.

Rajnath Singh described himself as a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Asked about party colleague Sanjay Joshi's exit due to differences with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, he said: "It is a party decision and the BJP chief could be the right person to answer it."
