Ujjain: Doors of Nagchandreshwar temple, recognized as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of the country, have been opened on the eve of Nagapanchami in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

This is the single Naga temple which doors are opened on the eve Nagpanchami for 24 hours. Hordes of people have gathered in the temple since 12’ clock at night.

Chandranageshwar temple is situated in 3rd section of Mahakaleshwar temple. It is said that one gets relief from all pangs of life after worshipping in this temple. As  per the age old traditions, doors of the temple were opened at 12’oclock at night.

Doors of the temple were kept open for 24-hours on the eve of Nagpanchami after rituals being performed at Mahanirmani akhara which will continue till Monday night. Mass worshipping are also being performed in other Shiva temples situated in the ciry, as the Nagpanchmi also falls on Monday.
