Gwalior: Exposing a high profile fake education racket, the Madhya Pradesh Department of Higher Education has sent name of a dozen institutions offering Diploma in Education (D.Ed) course to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), recommending the cancellation of their recognition.

The alleged D.Ed offering institutes were indulged in extorting money from the students of outer states and provided certificates without conducting classes or training sessions for the course.

Among those twelve colleges on the verge of losing their recognition are - Preston College, Siddhi Vinayak College, Texas Education College, Delhi Public Academy, Sardar Gyan Singh Memorial College, JB Institute of Teacher Education, Hanumant Singh Institute of Teacher Education, S R College Of Education, Vidyavati college, Adarsh College Education, DVS college and Dabas College.

The revelation was made after Department of Higher Education asked District Magistrate Akash Tripathi to examine the irregularities in the D.Ed Colleges of Gwalior.
 
In the probe, Tripathi found that the colleges were not following even the norms of state’s Board of Secondary Education.
