Addressing a rally at Barwala village in Bawana here, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Ajay Maken said both the BJP-led central government and AAP-led Delhi government were "against" farmers.

He said farmers in outer Delhi have been terribly hit due to the unseasonal rains but both the governments were least bothered to provide compensation for their losses.

Maken said that he along with several Congress leaders had visited some of the areas in the part of the national capital and were shocked to see that destruction of crops.

"But neither the BJP-led central government nor Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi government has bothered to take stock of the losses suffered by the farmers and provide suitable compensation to them to help them tide over the crisis," he said adding these farmers needs urgent financial compensation.

He also attacked the Centre over the new Land Acquisition Bill, saying it would "rob the farmers of their cultivable land and break their backs as this move was intended for the easy acquisition of the farmers land by big industrialists."

He said that Congress party would hold a 'Kisan Rally' at Ramlila Maidan on April 19 to endorse the demands of farmers. The rally is expected to be attended by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the DPCC said that Congress workers would hold demonstrations in all the 12 zones of Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD) to protest against the failures of the three MCDs in addressing the problems of Delhi.
