Bhopal: Social networking site users beware! Before making friends, confirm that they are not fiends. In a shocking revelation by the Madhya Pradesh Police, two boys of Delhi and Bijnor district had kidnapped a girl after tricking her into friendship through social networking site Facebook.

According to MP police, around two year back Khalid Mulat a resident of Trilokpuri of Old Delhi came in contact with a 17-year-old girl belonging to Shiv Vihar Colony of Dhar city through the social networking site. Soon they became close friends and romance blossomed between the two. On several occasions, they exchanged romantic messages.

Khalid raised a marriage proposal before the girl, which was turned down by the latter. The boy pressurized the minor to tie the nuptial knot, however the girl remained firm on her stand.

Miffed over the issue, Khalid with the help of his friend Naem Khan hatched the conspiracy to kidnap the girl. Both were successful in kidnapping the girl and brought her to Bhopal railway station in a taxi.

However, a delay in the train timing foiled their malicious intentions.

Explaining the modus operandi, Dhar SP Rajiv Mishra said, “The two boys first called the girl to come to Indore alone, from where they brought her to Bhopal in a hired taxi. They had already booked three train tickets from Bhopal to Delhi.”

But as the Dhar Kotwali police got the information of the entire episode in time, they informed the GRP Bhopal following which the GRP caught hold of the boys from Bhopal railway station, he added. 13 sim cards were recovered from Khalid’s possession.

Main accused Khalid who works in the service sector of LG Company in Delhi had met the girl in December at Dhar’s Ghotachopati area.

According to the police, Khalid’s friend Naem Khan is equally responsible for the act of kidnapping. Revealing his plans, Khalid said that he had planned to take the girl to Delhi and then get married to her.

On Monday, the two arrested were presented before the court and thereafter sent to district jail.
