New Delhi: In a bid to curb the losses of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), employees will take up the charge of depot and contribute to making it a profit-making unit.

DTC Employees Congress head Ramesh Chand Vyas said, “At least 40 percent of the profits will be distributed among the employees in order to motivate them to work better for the DTC.”

However, green signal from the DTC management in this regard is still awaited, he added.

Recently, Vyas met with DTC Chief Managing Director Naresh Kumar and discussed on the scheme.

DTC officials said the scheme will be effective only if it is utilized properly by the trade unions.

Incidentally, the DTC ran similar services three years back but proved futile due to the increased interference from the management. Hence, this time the employees asked for complete autonomy.

Notably, Ghazipur depot with strength of 830 employees and 100 buses has been facing a huge financial crunch.
