New Delhi: It seems tough times lie ahead for those students of Delhi University who have taken admission in more than one college. Usually colleges in DU require students to submit their original certificates at the time of admission. Since most of these colleges return these after verification, the students tend to apply for admission in another college without withdrawing their names from the previous one.

The Dean, Students Welfare Department, taking cognizance of this, has decided to cancel the admission of such students in both the colleges.

Dr Shashi Tyagi, Principal at Gargi College said that the original certificates are returned to the students after the verification process is complete and only if there is a doubt over the certificate’s authenticity, do they hold it back.

This year, hundreds of students have withdrawn their name from Gargi College. According to Dr Shashi Tyagi, this is a common practice with students. Every year, many students withdraw their names from the college to seek admission in a different college or course of their choice, she added.
