According to reports, Guru Nanak Darbar invited the Muslim guests for Iftar to break their Ramadan fast. The Gurudwara committee even invited some Christians and members of three churches to join Iftar party. They also had a special discussion on the moral values in order to strengthen their bonds.

Earlier, Islamic Al Manar Centre had invited people of different religions for Iftar. In a sweet gesture of previous invite, the Gurdwara committee too decided to treat their Muslim guests in a special way and provided them with Iftar dinner. This apart, the Gurdwara is also serving langar every day during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Chairman of the Gurdwara committee Surinder Singh Kandhari was quoted as saying that the reason behind hosting the Iftar dinner primarily was to 'shun our egos and come together and share a meal with our Muslim brothers'.
