Dubai: Prosecutors here would be provided with iPads to carry out their legal work, a move aimed at improving their efficiency and to save time.

All prosecutors would be provided with the device in an initiative called the 'E-prosecutor', according to a report.

"It is a new programme so prosecutors can follow up cases and issue orders in cases from their homes," First Advocate Yousif Al Mutawa said.

"The programme means they can follow up things anywhere and everywhere, even when they are outside the country. It will help them make the right decisions in cases at the right time," Al Mutawa said.

According to him, all cases will be available at one touch on the iPad. This will raise their performance and will help customers because procedures will take less time.

The head of IT at Dubai Public Prosecution, Hind Al Zarouni, assured the public that the system was secure.

"We won't allow anyone to get into our system. It is built on a solid and strong security base," Al Zarouni was quoted by the newspaper as saying.

"The confidentiality of cases and the security of information are really important to us and only prosecutors will be able to go through it," he said.
