Gremio goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe has also been called up as cover for Jefferson after the Botafogo goalkeeper suffered a finger injury on Wednesday.

Jefferson, who started in Brazil's friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador last month, has not been cut from Dunga's squad.

Brazil will play Argentina in Beijing Oct 11 followed by a clash against Japan in Singapore three days later.

Souza, 25, represented Brazil at under-20 level and has impressed this season for Sao Paulo in Brazil's Serie A championship.Grohe, 27, is also yet to make his full international debut.
