New Delhi: After much hue and cry over U-special buses, the students’ association of the Delhi University has resolved the matter themselves. The association has rolled out DUSU special buses from few colleges of the University.

Around 80 buses will ply in coming days. These buses will neither be operationalised by the government nor DU side, but they will run in partnership of DUSU and transport club.

To avail this facility, every student will have to pay Rs 120 per month. DU students’ association president Ajay Chikara said that the fare of DTC buses plying in the campus area is Rs 10-15 whereas it was decided that the ticket price for U-special buses will be kept at Rs 5.

In this backdrop, joint secretary of the association recommended for running DUSU-special buses in partnership with the transport club.

As per in-charge of the transport club Shekhar, the buses will cover distance of 120 kilometres and Rs 70, 000 will be the running cost per month.

Apart from this, the transport club will also earn from hoardings and advertisements in the buses. The buses have been hired from blueline operators and will be equipped with charter and video coaches.
