Lucknow: Taking cognizance of a report published in Dainik Jagran on the ignorance of CCTV video footage as strong evidence in Deputy CMO Dr YS Sachan’s mysterious death, jail authorities have become active on this issue.

Now, to solve the murder mystery behind Sachan’s death in Lucknow jail, the administration has sought CCTV footage from the concerned agency. According to a senior police official, the footage will be closely monitored.

Notably, there are 26 video cameras in the jail and still the need to monitor the footage was not felt after the deputy CMO’s alleged murder.

In its Sunday’s edition, Dainik Jagran had raised the question that why was the CCTV footage not reviewed to investigate the matter?

Speaking with Dainik Jagran, Superintendent of Police SHM Rizvi said, “The agency responsible for construction of jail is looking after the CCTV footage and the cameras have not been handed over as yet. We have asked for recording from the agency and it will be monitored.”

Former DG of Police Yashpal Singh said if cameras inside the jail were functional, those behind the murder will be nabbed soon.

“The mystery will be solved if the investigating agencies interrogate people from the footage,” he said. The evidences clearly reflect it to be a case of homicide rather than suicide.
