Kozhikode: Union Minister of state for External Affairs and HRD, E Ahamed on Saturday flagged-off the inaugural Haj flight with about 250 pilgrims from the nearby Karippur International airport.
    
The Saudi Arabian Airlines will operate 32 flights to carry the 9825 odd pilgrims from Kerala, Lakshadwep and Mahe to Jeddah.
    
Karippur is the embarkation point for the Hajis of Kerala, Lakshadweep and Mahe.
    
There will be two flights on the inaugural day on Saturday, HAJ sources said.
    
The pilgrims will start returning from November 16.
    
This year's Haj camp, organised by the state Haj Committee was inaugurated by Indian Union Muslim League State President Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, on Friday.
