Budapest, Jan 30 (Agencies): A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit parts of western Hungary and Budapest, the capital city on Saturday. It is the strongest in the country since 1985.

According to the The National Disaster Management Agency, there have been no reports of injuries so far. Buildings underwent minor damage, including small cracks and falling plasterwork.

The mayor's office says bridges and underpasses will be inspected to ensure their safety.

The epicenter was near the town of Oroszlany, 70 km west of Budapest.
