Latehar: The earthquake, which jolted the northeastern part of the country on Sunday evening, left 60-70 foot long and 10 metres deep crater on NH-75 in Sikni Colliery of Latehar district, disrupting vehicular movement on the highway.

Meanwhile, at few places, the roads caved in up to two to three foot. On getting information about the craters on the highway, the officials of district administration rushed to the site on Monday morning and directed to fill the cracks for traffic movement.

“Presently, the roads have been restored for traffic and information regarding the existing situation has been delivered to the officials of district information department. Further steps will be taken only after a team from headquarters arrives,” said National Highway engineer, Modinagar, Surendra Pandey.
