The earthquake hit the city at around 9:10 pm (local time) and its epicenter was located near Brea in Orange County, around 33 kilometers away from Los Angeles and was followed by several aftershocks which measured in magnitudes of 3.4 and 3.6.

It has been reported that earthquake was widely felt from San Diego to Ventura County, and the residents said that it lasted about 10 seconds. The larger quake followed a 3.6 magnitude foreshock that occurred in the same place an hour ago.

Residents in the northern Orange County also shared photos of minor home damage, including cracked walls, fallen pictures and broken plates. Water supply was also disrupted in nearby streets.

Besides, minor gas leaks were also reported in the communities of La Habra, Fullerton and La Mirada.
