The DMK on Wednesday approached the Election Commission and complained that voters were being given Rs 3,000 or other gifts by AIADMK members to solicit vote for the ruling party in Tamil Nadu and urged the poll body to take action to curb the malpractice.
The DMK also alleged that the police personnel were supporting the AIADMK in the distribution of cash to voters.
Karunanidhi hoped that his party would win more seats this time than the 18 of 39 in 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
