"The government will provide 24-hour power supply at Dargah Kichaucha Sharif, Dargah Naseemabad, Hastinapur, Panch Pyare, Dewa Shareef, Shravasti, Mathura and Vrindanad. This facility will start after March," Yadav said.
"Pilgrims from all over the country and abroad come for pilgrimage to Uttar Pradesh. Pilgrim places whether of Jain, Muslim, Hindu or Sikh are in the state,” he said.
"For the facility of the pilgrims, government has decided to provide 24-hour power supply at eight places," Akhilesh said while dedicating 200 sub-stations worth Rs 1,188 crore to the public here.

Government will achieve the target of providing 16-hour power supply in villages and 24-hour supply in cities. He said that government was making sincere efforts to improve the power system, the CM said.

Akhilesh said during a meeting, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal had said that the direction in which the UP government was working was better.
Terming power theft as a major hurdle, he said a political party had promised 24-hour power supply, but the party was unaware of the theft problem and was under the impression that power meters were installed even in villages.

He said with their slogans, people felt that round-the-clock power will be supplied.

Akhilesh said to make people know about problems of illegal connections, the government exempted 'Katiabaaz' movie from entertainment tax, though the producers and the director had not asked for it.

He said to deal with the problem of illegal connections, the government launched a campaign in which more than 2.5 lakh new connections were issued in two months.

Underground cabelling of power lines has also been started by the government, he said.

Talking about other works being done by his government, Yadav said, "Samajwadi Pension is reaching the families. Rs 500 can be negligible for you and me, but think about villages. Around 40 lakh families are getting benefited through the scheme. No one else can launch the scheme," he said.
Akhilesh said for better implementation of the scheme, it was being implemented through party MLAs in the districts.
