Seth, who lost her husband K K Seth last year, says it was hard to come out of that phase but for her music.
She has dedicated the title track of her album to her husband, who, in her own words, was her biggest friend and critic.
"The title song is the story of my life. I had lost my husband before recording this song and the phase that I went through was very lonely. I remember I got so many awards after 'Ektara' became a hit in Bollywood... we were always in limelight and then I lost Mr Seth and for those months, I was completely alone," Kavita told.
The singer credits her music for helping her overcome the difficult phase and is happy that her husband was a part of the process.
"When I am singing I forget everything but otherwise it is hard to forget. Sometimes, I thank God for giving me the gift of music, it has helped me cope up. We had a great bonding for 21-years. His favourite track on the album was 'Yun to naadan hoon'. He was my biggest fan and critic.
In the industry people will praise you but it is very hard to find someone who will tell you about your mistakes," she adds.
Released by Universal Music, the album has nine tracks 'Tere Khayaal Ki Khushaboo Hai', 'Yun To Naadan Hoon', 'Ek Din', 'Tu Mera Kuchh Bhi Nahi Hai', 'Aaye Gaye Badra', 'Chahe Dard De Chahe Soz De', 'Ik Lagan Lagi', 'Is Tassawur' and 'Zindagi Ki Nayi Pehchaan'. The songs have been written by Jagdish Prasad.
