Mandi: The Election Commission’s campaign to ensure a high voter turnout in Himachal Pradesh fructified with the state witnessing record 75 percent polling on Sunday. Elderly people also took keen interest in exercising their franchise in this poll.

Reshmu Devi (85) travelled down to cast her vote at Mandal village booth in Kangra District, while 89-year old Gyanchand Sharma along with his family members couldn’t stop himself from exercising his franchise and went to a polling booth to cast his vote.

95-year old Sorju Devi also cast her vote at Mandal booth, while showing a similar kind of zeal 94-year old Sher Singh along with his grand sons cast his vote at Bhangrotu polling booth.
