In a communication addressed to the PDP, the state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said that since campaigning for the first phase of the state assembly elections ended Sunday evening, the PDP cannot release its poll manifesto on Monday.

The PDP had announced on Sunday evening that it would release its election manifesto in summer capital Srinagar on Monday.

The Election Commission sources said that the manifesto can, however, be released on November 26 after polling for the first phase ends on Tuesday evening.

Campaigning for the first phase of polling on Tuesday for 15 assembly seats in 87-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly ended on Sunday.
Total of 123 candidates are in the fray in the first leg of the five-phase election in Jammu and Kashmir, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is leading the ruling National Conference against main opposition PDP, BJP and Congress.

The NC had snapped alliance with the Congress ahead of polls.
