Noida: In its bid to provide a hassle-free traffic between Noida and Ghaziabad, the Noida Development Authority has decided to construct an elevated road from Film City flyover in Sector-16 to Atta Market underpass.

The Authority gave its green signal to the 700 metre long elevated road in its 173 rd board meeting on May 23 that would approximately cost Rs 100 crore.

The project would provide hassle free movement to the lakhs of commuters who use the stretch. The authority will very soon issue tenders for design of the elevated road.

The present road on the route is very narrow which caters to heavy traffic, especially during the peak hours. There is no room to widen this stretch. The fact that 3-4 approach roads from Sector-18 join this road only adds up to the chaos.

Once the project would get completed, the vehicles approaching this stretch from the Atta market would not be allowed to take the underpass straightaway. Alternative arrangement would be made for such vehicular movement.

Apart from this, two elevated roads – connecting Atta under pass to NH-24 and Mamura round about to NH-24 - have already been sanctioned to ease the traffic flowing between Noida and Ghaziabad.
