New Delhi: Miffed at the controversy generated after Supreme Court’s verdict in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, the UPA government in a bid to project a clean image is training its guns at the NDA government by holding it responsible for the entire irregularities in the allocation of the 2G spectrum.

Dismissing all the allegations against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram, the Congress on Friday held the ineffective “first come first serve” policy of the NDA government responsible for the allocation of 2G spectrums to the telecom companies in 2008.

The party warned the BJP of manipulating the Apex Court’s verdict over the 2G case and has asked to act responsibly over the entire issue.

When asked about why the UPA government failed to reformulate the ineffective policies of the NDA government, party spokesperson AbhishekManu Singhvi said, “The policies of the NDA government was vague and highly biased and same has been pronounced by the honourable court. Our government welcomes the court’s verdict.”

“Will the BJP take the onus of the entire 2G mess that was caused solely due to the ineffective policies of the NDA government,” Singhvi asked.

Launching attacks against the BJP over their comments on the date of birth row of the Army Chief, he said, “The BJP must restrict itself from making such irresponsible remarks. The matter is under the purview of the honourable court and any remark coming prior to the judgement will be highly immature.”
