New Delhi:Those who had managed to secure flats under the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) housing scheme 2010 by beating thousands of contenders, are more miserable than being happy today since they have yet not received the possession of their flats while the deduction of EMI for their home loan has already started.

The DDA had invited applications for more than 16,000 flats in 2010 for which the draw was held last year in April. The DDA had assured that the flats will be ready by August and the people will get their demand letter. The DDA started issuing demand letters to 11,000 applicants in September but the remaining 5,000 contenders are still waiting for their turn.

However, those who have received their demand letters do not have a reason to rejoice because in spite of depositing the complete payment of the flats within 90 days of receiving the demand letter, they have yet not got possession.

Those in line for the possession of the flats have been told that their documents have been missing. When they approached the concerned authorities for the re-submission of the those documents, they were plainly told  to wait for a letter which will be dispatched to them at their addresses along with which they would be required to re-submit their documents.

Meanwhile, brokers have become active who are promising successful completion of the task of documentation at a charge of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.

However, DDA Public Relations Advisor Nimo Dhar said, “We have started providing the possession of the flats to the successful applicants”

She said, after the deposition of payment, the documents are sent for verification to the Finance Department after which they are forwarded to the legal department and then to the administrationwhich takes 40-50 days time to proceed them further.
