"Emraan had been pepping up for the Azharuddin biopic and was learning the nuances of the game when he hurt himself," a source revealed.

Emraan's spokesperson confirmed the news. "Azhar is known to be a wristy batsman and Emraan was training for the same. While doing so, he injured his wrist and had been advised bed rest", he said.

The biopic starring Emraan Hashmi has already been delayed for various reasons. Last year the film was postponed because of the bad health of the actor's son. Now, that Emraan's injury has affected the film.

Director Tony D'Souza, praised Emraan for his professionalism and the hard training the actor is going through to attain the perfection to essay the role of star cricketer.

"Despite the swelling in his hand, he kept practising to get each and every nuance of Azhar right. This, along with the footwork of Azhar is very tough for anyone to master. But Emraan is training really hard for it. On some days Emraan does another two hundred balls in the evening," Tony added.

The buzz also goes rounds that Mohammad Azharuddin also attends the training session and has also lend his personal bat to Emraan.
