Bhopal:  Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced waiver of entertainment tax on Bollywood films being shot in the state.
The announcement was made by the Chief Minister on Thursday night on the occasion of the State's 57th Foundation Day before a music concert by internationally acclaimed music composer and singer A R Rahman.
"Films to be shot in Madhya Pradesh will be exempted from entertainment tax," he said.
He also said that an International Band Festival will be organised in the state next year on the centenary of the famous Maihar Band founded by noted Sarod player Ustad Alauddin Khan of Maihar Gharana.
On the occasion, Chouhan also administered a pledge to the people to contribute their best for the development of the state.
Madhya Pradesh Governor, Ram Naresh Yadav said that the state has embarked on the path of development at a fast pace and soon it will be known in the country as "Uttam Pradesh" (best state).
Yadav while referring to the state's rich cultural, historical, social and political legacy said the state is a confluence of diversities as it has a glorious past.
