Gurgaon: It is tragic that scores of state government employees coming under the bracket of ESI (Employees’ State Insurance Funds) in the cyber city of Gurgaon are unable to get healthcare facilities at ESI run hospitals in the city.

What is more distressing that these hospitals are almost closed on Sunday. Apart from this, there is no dispensary in the city which is providing either round the clock or emergency services to the ESI staff in the cyber city.

Employees are agitated over the fact that authorities are almost deaf to their demands of keeping ESI dispensaries open even on Sundays.

Remarkably, a number of people in the city are suffering from viral and other diseases these days and in the absence of facilities at ESI hospitals, they are compelled to take services of costly private hospitals.

Moreover, employees are sore over the fact that they are being denied the facilities at these hospitals whereas a part of their salary has regularly been being deducted for this purpose.

Many ESI card holders said that they have raised the issue before the Labour Department Officials on several occasions but nothing has happened.
