Jaipur: A European Commission delegation on Thursady met Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot here and appreciated successful execution of water projects.
The 11-member delegation is on a visit to the state to review progress of the projects worth Rs 450 crore funded by the commission and to identify new projects.
Gehlot on his part highlighted the water crisis in the desert state. He also apprised them of some practical problems being faced in execution of projects as per the conditions of the agreement, according to an official.
The chief minister said that as per conditions, setting up of water regulatory authority in the state has to be done by the end of this fiscal year otherwise fund will not be released.
He said that the final decision on the setting up of the authority will be taken up by the legislative assembly, so it would be best to follow a practical approach in this matter.
The delegation also assured support to solve the problems, he added.
