New Delhi: After losing the jet deal to France, the highly disappointed Britain has termed the Eurofighter superior than French Rafale on all parameters.

Gerald Howarth Britain's Minister for International Security Strategy in a meeting with the Minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju on Monday not only expressed disappointment on loosing the bid but also figured the possibilities of reconsideration be the Indian government.

According to government sources, the issue of jet deal dominated the high level delegation meeting between both the ministers. Howarth who is on a five day tour to India is accompanied by a delegation of 20 defence equipment manufacturers. Howarth and his team were trying hard to convince the Indian Defence Ministry for reconsidering its decision. Britain expressed its disappointment and presented numerous grounds to prove the superiority of Eurofighters over French Rafale.

Britain argued that in context of the prices quoted, Eurofighter is technically better than Rafale. On the sidelines of the jet deal, the row over financial aid from Britain was also raised.
Meanwhile,the  British Prime Minster David Cameron has clarified that Britain will continue its efforts for bagging the jet deal.

However, India has said that the deal has been finalised without any partiality. According to the government sources, Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai had explained the basis on which the Indian government finalised the deal to the ambassadors of Britain, Russia, France, Spain and German. Notably, by the final phase of the bidding process for the 126 fighter jet deal only two bidders; Britain’s EADS Eurofighter and French Rafale were left and the best option had to be chosen.
