Itkhori (Chatra): Sniffing the possibilities of ancient heritage in the region, the Archaeological department is all set to start excavation in the religious town of Bhaduli in Chatra district of Jharkhand. The department has set a time period of two years to complete the excavation process.

In addition, the department will also start surveying the Kabra Kala village of Palamu district in December. Thereafter, the excavation would be started there.

The Superintending Archaeologist, Ranchi region, NG Nikose, gave information about the approval from Prime Minister’s Office for conducting the excavation at both sites. He was in Bhaduli to inspect the excavation site.

After the inspection, Nikose said that historical heritage in large amount is buried in Bhaduli which is a confluent place of the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religions.
