Srinagar (Agency): Jammu and Kashmir government has granted an ex-gratia relief of Rs one lakh each to the family of the two girls, shot dead by militants in Sopore town of Baramulla district on Monday, officials said.

Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Javed Ahmad Dar accompanied by Sopore MLA Haji Mohammad Ashraf visited the bereaved family last evening and handed over the ex-gratia cheque to father of the girls, Ghulam Nabi Dar, an official spokesman said.

The minister and the MLA had visited the family on the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to condole the killing of Arifa and Akhter, the teenage daughters of Dar.
