Rishikesh: In a bid to promote the ‘Save Ganga’ campaign and tourism in Uttarakhand, former Miss India Earth Niharika Singh will run at the Rishikesh Half Marathon on May 25.

Intensifying its move to save Ganga, the Uttarakhand Tourism department in association with a company is going to host ‘Running and Living Adventure Run’ here on May 25 and 26.

The Half Marathon is likely to be attended by some well-known faces including the former Miss India Earth Niharika Singh.

“ Former Miss India Earth Niharika Singh will participate in the Running and Living Adventure run, being organized on May 25,” regional tourist officer YK Gangwar and program co-coordinator Tarun Gulati told reporters while briefing about the event on Friday.

Niharika Singh also joined media through video conferencing. She said, “I am very excited about the marathon. I am looking forward for some adventure and fun.  Uttarakhand is a beautiful state and I am doing my bid to promote its beauty.”

The registration process has already begun and will close on May 18. Interested people can visit Ganga Kinare hotel or travel office of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam to get the registration for the marathon. The helpline number 8171989880 can also be accessed for further inquiry, said the officials.
