Gwalior: A number of people who aspire to become army officer by resorting to illegal means, but eventually end up getting cheated and losing their hard earned money. A similar incident came to light in Gwalior, where several youth were duped by a person with more than Rs 50 lakh each.

Terming himself as a Major in the Indian Army, Ravindra Chouhan conned people who dreamt of being in the army by promising them recruitment in Assam Riffles.

Chouhan has been arrested in Delhi by the Delhi Police Crime branch and the Murar police are going to bring him back on transit remand.

According to the police officials, Chouhan along with his accomplice Archana Singh was operating a job racket in which he duped people with more than Rs 50 lakh.

“Singh, a resident of Jorhat district in Assam, was the real mastermind of the whole racket,” the police sources said.
