New Delhi: Cases of counterfeit currency circulation are making the most in the 31st edition of International Trade Fair 2011 in Pragati Maidan these days.

But who is the real mastermind behind the activity still remains a million dollar question for the Delhi Police and the organizers of the international event.

According to sources, the incidence came into light after the exhibitors deposited moneys in the banks. Fake notes of Rs 500 denominations were found to be circulated in bulk in the trade fair.

“There were several complaints from exhibitors that fake currency notes worth Rs 500 were being freely circulated in the fair. We have asked the police to take necessary action,” said an official of International Trade Promotional Oraganization (ITPO).

Responding over the worrisome issue, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ciju P Kurbila said “All possible efforts are being made to aware the people here. We hope to crack the case soon”
