Arrah: During municipal elections on Thursday, Bihar police cracked a fake voter-ID card racket here while conducting raids in the town area of Bhojpur district. A woman candidate Neetu Soni, her husband and two employees of a cyber café were caught red handed from by the police during the raid.  

Speaking in this connection, Police Superintendent M R Nayak said that more than 15 fake voter cards, computer sets, camera and printers including scanned documents were seized from café during search operation.

Election administration’s eyes were left wide open when many voters lodged complaint that their vote was already casted when they reached at their respective polling stations.

A police team led by DSP Mhd. Nurool Haq, raided cyber café located at Amrapali market and exposed the racket. DSP said that this is a very huge racket indulged in such activities.  Inquiry is being conducted to know about the procedure of making hologram placed on the fake voter ID cards.
