Greater Noida: The sit in protest of farmers under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) continued even on Saturday against recent police lathi-charge on them when they were demanding for compensation from a Madhya Pradesh based private company for accusation of their land.
“A private company acquired land of local farmers to install a plant and did not pay compensation to them. And when they were demanding compensation, the police took to lathi-charge,” Ajay Pal, BKU, District President, said.

Many farmers were also arrested and sent to jail. BKU demanded that sufficient compensation to be given to the farmers and also declared that if their demands were not met they would carry forward their protest.
