Chandigarh: In order to train farmers and acquaint them with ultra-modern techniques in diversified farming, the Punjab Government would set up an Integrated Farmer's Training Center at Gurdaspur.

The Agriculture Department has chalked out a detailed programme to woo farmers towards diversification in agriculture sector by promoting fruits, vegetables, oil seeds and pulses cultivation in the state besides dairy farming, fish farming and poultry farming, an official spokesman said in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

He said for this purpose the state government has included districts namely Mansa, Barnala, Moga and Ropar in National Horticulture Mission.
