Ami Nagar Sarai (Baghpat): The Bhartiya Kisan Union held a panchayat on Tuesday to register its protest against the land acquisition proposed by Gail Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

BKU leader Baljor Singh said, “The company is trying to grab the lands of the farmers to pave way for laying its gas pipeline.” He added, “The union will not remain silent and will give a befitting reply to the move.”

Addressing the panchayat held at farmer leader Anil Garg’s house, Baljor said, “If the company does not pay proper compensation to the farmers, they will not let GAIL acquire their land.”

The issues regarding electricity and water shortage were also raised in the panchayat.
