Farooq Abdullah was accompanied by his son and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior party leaders.

State Congress president, Saif-ud-Din Soz, also accompanied the Union Minister.

The ruling National Conference-Congress alliance is jointly fighting the election in the state.

Farooq is re-contesting from the Srinagar constituency. He is contesting against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Tariq Hameed Karra and Aam Aadmi Party’s Raja Muzaffar Bhat.

Farooq is reportedly scheduled to address a rally at the mausoleum of his father and NC founder, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, in Nigeen area of the city later on Monday.

Polling in the state is scheduled to be held on April 10, 14, 24, 30 and May 7.
