“His body will be brought here after completing the formalities in Dubai, by tomorrow afternoon, approximately at 4 pm. Then from 5 pm to 7pm the body will be kept for people to pay their last respects. And after that last rites will be performed," Sheikh's close friend actor Satish Shah said on Sunday.

Bollywood celebrities were aggrieved by the sudden demise of the actor. Several stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Mahesh Bhatt, Madhur Bhandarkar and others expressed grief on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook.

The 65-year-old Bollywood actor died of a cardiac arrest in Dubai on Friday night.

Sheikh was best known for his contribution to parallel cinema in the 1970s and 1980s. An active theatre person, Farooq Sheikh started his career in Bollywood in 1973 with ‘Garm Hawa’. His other notable films include Satyajit Ray’s ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’, ‘Chashme Buddoor’, ‘Kissi Se Na Kehna’ and ‘Noorie’.

He was the host of the famous talk show ‘Jeena Isi ka naam hai’ on television.
