New Delhi: Stressing upon revealing the real name of Delhi gang rape victim, father of the 23-year-old said that he felt pained when media and people refer his brave daughter as a ‘gang-rape victim’.

“When my daughter is repeatedly referred to as a ‘gang rape victim’ on television channels and in newspapers, I feel very bad. She was a braveheart and must be known by her real name,” victim’s father said at the inauguration of science museum at Motibagh which is going to be named after her.

The demand for making public the name of the victim has been echoing time and again from all quarters.

Earlier, Union Minister Shashi Tharoor favoured making the identity of the victim public, if her family allows. The minister also advocated naming of the revised anti-rape legislation after the victim.

In an interview, the victim’s father had supported the proposal and called it a proud moment for the family.
