New Delhi, (JPN/Bureau): In what appears to be a crime of passion, two women studying medicine was critically injured on Saturday when their live-in partner, also a fellow student stabbed them following a row.

All three of them lived together in Gautam Nagar in south Delhi. They were in their 20s. They had apparently returned from abroad and were preparing for a Medical Council of India examination.

A couple of days ago they had a scuffle after which the women asked the man to leave their house, a police officer said.

The man went away only to return on Saturday morning and stabbed the unsuspecting women when they opened the door.

The women were rushed to the Safderjung hospital and are reported to be in a critical state. The police are trying to trace the whereabouts of the man. All three of them are reported to belong to North East.
