Bhopal: Eid-ul-Fitr was on Monday celebrated across Madhya Pradesh with Muslims offering prayers in mosques, giving alms to the needy and visiting friends and relatives.
    
Marking the end of the fasting month of Ramzan, people dressed in their festive best participated in a congregational prayer held at Eidgah Ground here and exchanged greetings.
    
Prominent among the political leaders who greeted people on the occasion were Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state unit BJP president Prabhat Jha, the Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Singh, besides Congress leaders Sunil Sood and Manak Agarwal.
    
Similar prayers were also held in Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain and Gwalior among other cities to mark the festive spirit.
