New Delhi: With some big brands introducing low cost handsets with latest features, competition seems to get tough in the mobile phones market. The leading mobile brands face a stiff competition in the low cost handset market from companies which have recently entered the arena.

Eying the growing demand for such low cost handsets in class II and class III category cities, some new companies are also entering the market with their new range of handsets. In this line, maker of submersible pump and home appliances, Arise Group has introduced 14 new models of mobile phones ranging from Rs 1500 to Rs 3500.

Talking about its market plans, Arise Group Managing Director Avinash Jain said that equipped with latest applications, these low cost handsets are entering the market with a strong network of 450 service centres. Jain added that the group aims to reach the number of these networks up to 1200.

The group is also preparing to launch low cost handsets with Android application. At present, the company is exporting the handsets from China but is planning to set up a manufacturing unit of handsets in Sonepat.

Notably, Nokia had launched low cost mobile phones with internet facility recently which received good response in market.

It should be noted that there is a market of 13 crore mobile handsets annually which is growing rapidly in class II and class III category cities.
