New Delhi: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) chief Leandro Negre on Monday directed Federation of Indian Hockey (IHF) to amicably settle the dispute with Hockey India.

Negre who has already refused to put ban on the World Series Hockey (WSH), has asked them to bury the hatchet till March 31.

Giving ultimatum to the Indian hockey body, Negre said, “We will take stern action if FIH and HI would not settle down peacefully”.

“FIH has given recognition to the Hockey India” Negre reiterated.

Negre also congratulated Hockey India for their splendid efforts in organizing London Olympic Hockey qualifiers.

Reacting on the HI-FIH issue Negra said “Both bodies are engaged in talks and consensus is likely to be evolved. We have asked officials of both bodies to wrap up the issue in a month.”

On being asked about putting ban on players and coaches participating in the World Series Hockey, Negre said, “Hockey India has submitted complaint regarding WSH tournament. HI will take the call in this regard. I will visit India after a month, till then hopefully both bodies would end their differences.”
