Dehradun: The Vijay Bahuguna led government in Uttarakhand has started exploring various ways and means to collect additional revenue in reviving the state’s financial condition. The government has decided to raise the tax revenue up to 30 percent in this regard and it has marked some areas where there is a possibility of receiving additional revenue.

State Revenue Minister Indira Hridesh on Tuesday convened a meeting to review the economic conditions of the state and preparing strategies to come out of the crisis. The highlight of the meeting was how to generate more revenues for the betterment of the state.

The Minister stressed on the importance of Chartered Accountant audits, research, short term savings, Fixed Deposit Scheme etc to curb the financial crisis.

She further said that it is necessary to appoint teachers and doctors right away after the schools and hospitals are thrown open for public use. She also informed that proposals on earning taxes on entertainment, river rafting and power monitoring are under pipeline.
