The police have registered a suo motu case against Ramdev for his comments on Dalits.

Speaking at a rally in Lucknow on Friday, Ramdev said that Rahul Gandhi visited the house of Dalits in the city for ‘picnics and honeymoon’.

"Rahul used to go to the dalit households to experience honeymoon. And if he had married a dalit ki beti (dalit girl), then by now, who knows, he might have become the Prime Minister of India. I wonder why he is not marrying a dalit girl,” Ramdev said.

"Rahul's tryst with bad fortune has just commenced. He is not inclined to get married to a desi (an Indian) where as is not doing so as he and his mother know that the Congress scion will not become the Prime Minister if he marries a foreigner,” he added.

Ramdev, who praised BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, further said, “It seems that Rahul is virtually running out of luck.”

Meanwhile, the Congress has condemned Ramdev’s remarks and demanded an apology from him.

“Ramdev's remark Anti Dalit. He must publicly apologise. We would like Modi and BJP to react to Ramdev's anti Dalit remark,” Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said on twitter.
